Fundraising Goals

Every year, each participant commits to collecting $1,000 by September 10, 2021. This amount qualifies for a donation receipt from the Fondation Cité de la Santé, in accordance with the rules of the Canada Revenue Agency.

For teams, the fundraising objective is equal to $1,000 x the number of participants. For example, a team of 4 cyclists must collect a minimum of $4,000.

In the case that such an objective is still unmet by the day before the event, the Fondation Cité de la Santé reserves the right to refuse to allow a cyclist to participate.

Tips and Tricks for Maximizing Donations

  • Personalize your fundraising page using a photo and share the story behind your interest in riding for the Laval Cancer Program!

  • Take the lead! Donate to your own campaign! That amount can have a real impact on the donations that follow.

  • Use social media to let others know that you’ll be taking part, and ask your friends and loved ones to support you in the challenge.

  • Personalize your email signature by incorporating a link where people can donate to your efforts.

  • Organize a fundraising activity. For example: a sports tournament, a cooking contest with donation voting, a talent contest, a recognition day at work, a bake sale or fresh-juice stand, etc.

  • Find out if your employer has a donation-matching program.

  • Ask your contacts—family doctor, dentist, corner grocer, mechanic, etc.

Where Do Donations Go?

All funds collected as part of participant fundraising are donated to the Laval Cancer Program. These funds allow for the purchasing of medical equipment, development of projects and initiatives to increase cancer patients’ well-being, and much more. Teaming Up!

There are lots of fundraising advantages to founding a new team OR joining an existing one. As a well-known proverb states: If you want to go fast, go alone—if you want to go far, go together! As a team, it’s easier to fundraise, to stay motivated, to help those who have smaller networks to work with, etc.
