In 2021, the Foundation of Greater Montréal created the Collective Fund for Social Equity (CFSE) to address various issues stemming from social inequality in order to advance justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) across its territory. The Foundation’s primary objective is to support organizations working with historically marginalized populations: Black, Indigenous, racialized, and LGBTQ2S+ people; women and girls; and people living with neurodivergence or physical or intellectual disabilities.

For the 2026-2027 period and with a total budget of $800,000, the Fund aims to support the emergence and maintenance of collective spaces, places, and resources that enable marginalized communities to come together, mobilize, and build solidarity.

Two levels of funding are available: $15,000 or $30,000 per year for two years. Charities, non-profits, citizen groups, coalitions, and partnerships serving the Greater Montreal area are eligible.

In line with FGM’s JEDI principles, priority will be given to initiatives by and for historically marginalized populations and populations facing systemic discrimination, as well as initiatives in solidarity with and for the benefit of these populations.

The selection process consists of two stages: Stage 1 application via a simplified online form (January 12 to February 20, 2026), followed by in-depth conversations with the FGM team for selected initiatives (Stage 2). Recipients will be announced at the end of June 2026.

For more information, please consult the Fund’s Application Guide and take a look at the contents of the Application Form. Note that this form will only be made available starting January 12, 2026.
