Our honorary families at the 6H En Cœur 2026!

"Louis was born with obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. After several weeks in the neonatal unit, we were able to return home, but his first year of life was punctuated by more than thirty medical appointments.
We quickly discovered the Foundation, and the group meetings allowed us to talk with other parents in similar situations. The Foundation offers concrete resources to families going through an ordeal for which it is impossible to prepare.
Louis sadly passed away from his illness at the age of 22 months. Inspired by the strength and resilience he showed during his short life, we now want to get involved ourselves to support other families."

"Xavier is the very definition of courage. Before he even turned one, he underwent three open-heart surgeries with incredible strength. Despite these trials, he continues to fight every day with a resilience that inspires everyone he meets. A tiny heart, but an immense will to live.
When we were confronted with our child’s illness, our whole world turned upside down. But amid the anxiety, there was support, mutual aid, and people who made a real difference. The En cœur Foundation is more than just help: it’s a presence, a source of comfort, and a breath of hope during the hardest times.
Today, we’re moving forward one day at a time, with greater strength and courage."

"In September 2024, during his three-year follow-up, Louis's doctor heard a heart murmur that she had never detected before. A few days later, in cardiology, the diagnosis was made: dilated cardiomyopathy.
What followed was a series of appointments, tests, blood tests, and all the emotional turmoil that such news brings. Since then, Louis has been receiving regular check-ups and treatment for heart failure, and we are gradually being prepared for what may lie ahead: a heart transplant.
The En Cœur Foundation has been with us since day one. It provides us with information, financial support during hospitalizations, group meetings, and a community that alleviates the feeling of isolation associated with the disease.
Louis still has many challenges ahead of him, but knowing that the En Cœur Foundation will be there to support us remains a significant source of comfort. This is our second time participating in the 6H En Coeur, an event that reflects the foundation's values: focused on children, families, mutual aid, and community spirit. We fully intend to make it a tradition!"

"Every parent’s greatest wish is to have a healthy baby. Learning that our baby had moderate IVH and ICH just one week after birth was a huge shock. A flurry of appointments and a range of emotions—from guilt and worry to fear—were added to the already hectic lives of new parents.
Discovering the foundation has been a source of comfort amid all the ups and downs. The support network of other parents and professionals has been a tremendous help. The foundation is like a big family that will be there during difficult times and moments of doubt—whether through financial support or simply by being there and listening. In a system where access to mental health care is a challenge, the foundation helps meet the needs of families with sick children and provides tools to help them get better.
Floriane still has a long and difficult road ahead of her, but we are grateful for all the help we have received."
