FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
General question about a bike ride
Do I need a specific bike to participate in the ride ?
No. The Cyclotour Santé Outaouais is a hike and not a race, so any type of bike can be used to cover the distance of the event.
For your safety, it is important that your bike can meet a few safety requirements.
What are the safety tips before going for a bike ride ?
- Check the tires
- Check if the chain "jumps"
- Check the condition of the brakes
- Check mandatory visibility equipment (reflectors)
- Check your battery if you have an electric power-assisted bike
Mechanics will be on site to help you inflate your tires, repair flat tires, adjust your brakes and help with any other minor adjustments.
I'm not an athlete ! Do I need to train dor a biginner, intermediate or advanced course ?
Yes, any participation in a recreational or sporting activity requires physical exertion. Since we want your experience to be as emotionally and physically fulfilling as possible, we are offering you a short presentation on physical training to familiarize you with the subject. The basic idea is to work up a cycling habit before July 11th so that your legs are ready to pedal down the roads of the Outaouais region. We also recommend that you familiarize yourself with your chosen course to avoid any surprises on the day of the event.

Deposit all funds amassed through your activity into your bank account. It is important to note that, according to the Canada Revenue Agency, these donations are not eligible for a tax receipt, so make sure you do not check the box requesting a tax receipt.
If I donate to my own campaign, am I entitled to a tax receipt?
Yes, every donation is eligible for a tax receipt.
When will my donors who made an offline payment receive their tax receipt?
Official receipts will be mailed to all offline donors by the end of December 2021.

What happens if I don’t reach my $250 fundraising goal? Can I still participate?
The Cyclotour Santé Outaouais is first and foremost a fundraising activity.
