Volunteers we can't do without / Chevaliers de Colomb de Rigaud

2019-09-13

Spaghetti Day is an annual fundraising event to benefit the Residence. Organized by Laurier Gauthier from the Rigaud Chapter of the Knights of Columbus, it is always an incredible outpouring of generosity. It was Grand Knight Julien Gravel’s expectation that this particular event would raise enough money to ensure the Residence’s survival. That is, until he visited the Residence to hand over a cheque and was invited to tour the facilities. He was shocked when he understood the extent of the financial resources the Residence requires to provide its care and services. It is also worth noting that Mr. Gravel witnessed the exceptional quality of care first-hand during his Mother-in-law’s stay at the Residence in 2014.

Without hesitation, he decided to lend the Residence a tremendous helping hand by getting involved in organizing the very first Walk in 2012 along with his fellow Knights. He repeated the experience in the years that followed and gave even more of himself by helping out with the sale of poinsettias in 2013.

We definitely could not do without the generosity of Julien Gravel and his fellow Knights—ambassadors of our Walk.
