Polymos to present and walk, because life needs to be celebrated at birth... and at its end..

The manufacturer produces corner and edge guards, construction materials, mini-celliers, isothermal and reusable containers, however, within the walls of Polymos, there is also a great outpouring of humanity.

This humanity spurred the Terrasse-Vaudreuil enterprise on to become presenter at the Annual Walk of the Residence. It also made the vice-president of Social Implications state that our Residence is a cocoon of tenderness and dignity. “Dying is just as important as being born. We celebrate life through births... and also at the end of life”,  says Hélène Bourbonnais.

It is this same humanity that convinced employees at Polymos to create a team of walkers to represent the company at our Walk.

This is not a first for the manufacturer of plastic products in extending their generosity towards the Residence. Polymos already donated various materials for its construction in 2008 and 2010.

Since the opening of the Residence, each year, employees and members of management have participated in at least one of the fundraising events. Polymos notably contributes to the Poinsettia Campaign and is always well represented at the event. However, it is their first participation in the Walk, according to Mrs. Bourbonnais.

One would think that such dedication to the Residence would have at its roots an emotional link, that is to say, a stay at the Residence of someone close to one of its employees or members of management. That is not the case, Mrs. Bourbonnais maintains. “The Residence calls to us simply because we would all like to benefit from such care. We also have a humanitarian mission. We strive to always be close to our employees when there is a death among their loved ones”,  she adds.

A Polymos employee who passed away last year was able to benefit from palliative care at home, she mentions.  In order to contribute to his well-being at the end of life, all of his team members from work paid him a visit at home.

For there to be humanity within the enterprise, Mrs. Bourbonnais stresses, one has to ensure the presence of human resources outside the scope of the “human at work”, such as when the end of life of a loved one is imminent. “One can’t rejoice the way we do at a birth when it’s the end of life. However, there should be just as much love...”, Hélène Bourbonnais affirms.
